London is officially the best city in the world for food in 2026, according to Tripadvisor

We’ve long been cheerleaders of London’s food scene at Condé Nast Traveller. For decades, our resident editors and trusted foodies have been entrusted to uncover the best new restaurants in the city – while our definitive guide to the best restaurants in London is an ever-evolving hit-list for the most ravenous readers.

Now, Tripadvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Awards Best of the Best confirms what we’ve always believed – London is the best city for food in the world.

Eye-rollers may have stereotypes in mind, images of soggy Yorkshire puddings, subpar fish and chips and Leicester Square’s tourist traps flashing through their mind. However, the latest ranking isn’t about the native cuisine – rather, the variation on offer across the capital.

London’s Best of the Best title as the tastiest city in the world right now is a result of above-and-beyond reviews and opinions from the Tripadvisor community over a 12-month period. With more than eight million listings across the site, it’s no mean feat to see our city at the top of the leaderboard.

The glittering UAE city of Dubai came in second place, with a rapidly advancing food scene that continues to attract talent from across the globe. The Eternal City came in a solid third place, while Paris, thought of as Europe’s gastronomic capital by many foodies, took fifth behind Hong Kong.
