The best places for bonfire night in London with kids

Remember remember the fifth of November – although finding the best places for bonfire night in London with kids is more about fireworks and toasted marshmallows than Guy Fawkes’ gunpowder treason and plot these days.

And after some great celebrations last year – following several years where it’s all been a bit of a damp squib – I’ve found some of London’s best bonfire night events for 2025 to light up the dark on Guy Fawkes Night.

From the biggest bonfire night events with a whole string of family-friendly extras, to the chance to ooh and aaah at the best fireworks in London with kids, here are some of the best places for bonfire night in London with kids for 2025.

While Guy Fawkes Day is traditionally commemorated on 5th November with bonfires and fireworks, the London 2025 events include plenty on the weekend before and after, as well as Wednesday November 5 if you prefer to celebrate then rather than on a school night.

Alexandra Palace Fireworks Festival

Ally Pally has long been one of the best places for bonfire night in London, attracting people from all across the city and even from outside the capital – and this year Halloween and Bonfire Night collide with the Fireworks & Drone Festival Halloween Spooktacular.

With a beautiful view of the city skyline as its backdrop, the large North London Bonfire Night event features huge bonfires, fairground rides, an ice rink, live music and performances and delicious street food and even a German beer festival for adults (strictly 18+).

And that’s all topped off with what has to be one of the most dazzling fireworks displays in London.

The fun-filled festival is open to people of all ages – tickets do need to be booked in advance as the event is always extremely popular.

There is some parking available at Alexandra Palace, however, this usually gets full early in the night so the easiest way to arrive at the event is by taking the train to Alexandra Palace Station or tube to Wood Green Station (Piccadilly Line).

2025 Bonfire Night Event: Friday October 31, from 6pm, and Saturday November 1 from 4pm.

Ticket price: Tickets cost from £18 for adults, child 11-15 from £12, child under 10 £6.50. Add-on tickets for ice skating are also available for £13. Click here to book.

Battersea Park Fireworks

Another of the best bonfire night events in London with kids can be found on the south bank of the River Thames in beautiful Battersea Park.

A London staple for years, the Battersea Park fireworks are returning for two nights again in 2025. The event kicks off with the Saturday night festivities, including a huge bonfire, street food, drinks stalls with mulled wine and an amazing firework display that usually lasts at least 20 minutes.

That’s followed by a family-friendly second night. As well as food, drinks and face-paint, this features another firework display suited to a younger audience with an earlier start time and more family fun planned – previous years have included a fun singalong before lighting up the sky too.

Battersea Park can be reached by jumping on the overground to Battersea Park Station or on the northern line to Battersea Power Station.

2025 Bonfire Night Event: On Saturday November 2 (gates open 6pm, fireworks 8.30pm approx) & Sunday November 3 (gates open 4.30pm, fireworks at around 7pm).

Ticket Price: Tickets for adults cost £14.20 for adults plus booking fee, £9.50 for kids aged 5-15, while with kids aged four and under going free (but still need a ticket). Click here to book.

Wimbledon Park & Morden Park Fireworks

If you’re looking for a fireworks display in London to watch with little ones who need to be home in time for bedtime, head down to south west London, where there are two options at Wimbledon Park and Morden Park.

Open from 5.15pm, the musical fireworks event includes a display at 6:45pm suitable for younger children with a feelgood music soundtrack, or there’s the option of the later main show at 8.30pm.

There’s also a street food village to grab dinner and a children’s funfair for the whole family to enjoy before the displays.

And if you can’t make the Bonfire Night event in Morden Park, the whole thing runs again on Saturday night in nearby Wimbledon Park.

2025 Bonfire Night Event: Wednesday November 5 (Morden Park), from 5.15pm and Saturday November 8 (Wimbledon Park), from 5.15pm. Funfair closes at 10pm.

Ticket Price: There’s a discount if you buy tickets in advance and prebooking is advised, as advance tickets usually sell out. Adult from £12.72 including booking fee, child aged five to 15 from £9.00, kids under four free, Family ticket for 2 adults and 2 children from £37.10. Click here to book tickets.

Blackheath Fireworks

One of London’s biggest bonfire night celebrations, the Blackheath Fireworks are back again for the first time in more than five years!

Some details are still to be announced, but the event will feature live entertainment, market stalls and finish with an impressive aerial display.

This year, Blackheath’s fireworks are being put on by the same people behind the Ally Pally event so you can expect an impressive show. Sadly – but unsurprisingly – it’s no longer free.

You could also wander over to neighbouring Greenwich Park and enjoy the views over the River Thames and Canary Wharf. With all of this and more, families were guaranteed enough to do with kids to enjoy a full day out before the fireworks display.

2025 Bonfire Night Event: November 1, gates open 5pm, fireworks from 8pm.

Ticket Price: Tickets cost £17.60 for adults, including booking fee, £11 for kids aged 11-15, £5.50 for kids aged 10 and under. Family tickets from £44. Prebooking essential.

Coram’s Fields, Camden

This event might be smaller than other fireworks night celebrations in London, but the Coram’s Fields display is ideal for families with younger kids for several reasons.

First, it’s free, so if your kids decide they’re not fans after all, you won’t be out of pocket. Secondly, the event starts at 3.30pm and the fireworks kick off from 6pm for 20 minutes, so you won’t be out too late.

There are also funfair rides and food stalls to keep everyone entertained. As it’s free, it does get busy so it’s well worth getting there earlier rather than later. And as ever, you can’t enter Coram’s Fields unless you do have kids with you.

2025 Bonfire Night Event: Wednesday November 5, from 3–7pm,

Ticket Price: Free!

Wembley and Harrow fireworks

While Wembley Park’s Light up the Night event isn’t running, there is a separate Wembley and Harrow fireworks display that’s definitely back for 2025 – and if you want to pack your November full of events, this one takes place the weekend after Bonfire Night

If you’re looking to make a day of it – or want a fireworks display without a high gate fee – it’s a great option, as it’s free to enter if you come in the afternoon. With a funfair, world food and other family activities, you’re unlikely to get away without spending anything once you get inside though.

Held in Byron Park, Harrow, the closest tube station is Harrow & Wealdstone. Roads will be closed around the park for the evening, so you’re advised not to drive as parking will be very limited (and you’ll have to walk anyway). If you do need to drive, there is a list of nearby car parks here.

2024 Bonfire Night Event: Saturday November 8, from 12pm. Fireworks at around 7.45pm

Ticket Price: Entry is free from 12-3pm. Otherwise tickets cost from £10 for adults (if bought online in advance), from £8 for kids aged 15 and under, family tickets from £15. Tickets can also be bought at the gate, payment in cash only. Click here to book

Crowd watching fireworks and celebrating with kids on adult's shoulders and yellow white starbursts in the background - the best places for fireworks night in London with kids

Ealing Cricket Club Fireworks, Ealing

This spectacular fireworks display is one of the best options for families in west London on bonfire night.

Set at Ealing Cricket Club on Corfton Road, this year’s theme is Firework Supernova with the pops and bangs paired with some iconic pop hits.

As well as the sparkling main event, there are rides for kids, as well as food and drink to buy – including pizza, samosa, curry, BBQ and mulled wine.

Parking is very limited in the area nearby, so you’re strongly advised to use public transport – the fireworks are in walking distance of North Ealing and Ealing Broadway tube stations.

2025 Bonfire Night Event: Saturday November 1, from 6pm and fireworks at 7.45pm – there are often queues, so getting there early is a good idea.

Ticket Price: Adults cost from £12.50 (early bird pricing), children aged 5-14 cost £6.50, free for children under 5 and family tickets for up to three children for £32. Tickets can be prebooked online, or you can pay by card at the gate (no family tickets available on the night, only individual ones). Previous years have seen sell-out events, so booking ahead is recommended.

Richmond Fireworks

Head to Richmond Athletic Ground and you can get your fireworks set to music – there’s usually a different theme each year, with previous years including everything from ‘Fire’ to ‘Monarchy’.

With a funfair and dance performance to keep you entertained while you wait for the main show, the choreographed firework display kicks off at 7pm and light up the west London sky until 7.30pm.

There’s everything from crepes to mulled wine at the food stalls too, which stay open until 9pm if you’re planning a later night out with older kids.

As a bonus, it’s only around five minutes walk from Richmond Station (tube & overground) if you want to avoid driving – which is advisable. Very limited parking is available but must be booked in advance, priced £10.

Tickets must be prebooked. There is normally a bag search at entrance – no food/drink or fireworks (including sparklers) can be brought in.

2025 Bonfire Night Event: Sunday November 2, from 4.30pm. Last entry is 6.30pm, fireworks display at 7pm and the funfair and stalls stay open to 9pm.

Ticket Price: Adult tickets cost from £10.50 for early bird tickets, kids aged 5-15 from £6, while under-fives go free. There are also seated Grandstand tickets available for £17.50 (for adults or kids, under-fives are free but need to sit on an adult’s knee). Tickets must be prebooked.

Dulwich Sports Club Fireworks

If you’re in south-east London, this family-orientated display is ideal to visit with kids – and tickets for under-12s are still only a pound (sort of), although age 11-16 do have to pay this year.

There’s been a new layout for the past few years, giving everyone more space for everyone to enjoy the festivities, with food stalls selling mulled wine and a variety of things to eat, including options aimed at kids.

And as well as the main 20-minute firework display, there will be live music from 5.30pm until 7pm, with kids songs as well as popular favourites.

Don’t bring your own sparklers though, these are strictly forbidden and won’t be allowed into the site. You also can’t take buggies in, although there is a buggy park to leave them in.

This year, there are two entry and exits again, via Giant Arches onto Burbage Road or onto Turney Road. There’s no parking on site, but it’s only a 10-minute walk from Herne Hill, North Dulwich and West Dulwich stations.

2025 Bonfire Night Event: Saturday November 8, doors open at 5pm with fireworks at 7pm.

Ticket Price: £14.49 for adults including booking fee, age 12-16 39.15, under-12s £1.66 (still £1 if you ignore the booking fee). No tickets are available on the night, click here to book.

Crystal Palace Fireworks

If you’re looking to brighten the winter nights, Crystal Palace is usually a great place for families – previous years have seen light festivals like Lightopia taking place, while for years it was home to the oldest firework display in the capital.

And while the annual Crystal Palace Fireworks Spectacular in Crystal Palace Park hasn’t been held for a while, there is a Crystal Palace and Anerley Fireworks event at James Dixon Primary school once again.

Inevitably, it’s all on a much smaller scale than the huge south London event, which was one of the best bonfire night London celebrations for families.

2025 Bonfire Night Event: Crystal Palace and Anerley Fireworks takes place on Sunday November 8, gates open from 6pm and firework display at 7pm.

Ticket Price: Tickets cost from £12 for adults, £5 for children aged 5-17, under fives are free but must have a ticket. Tickets must be prebooked.

London Bonfire Night events not taking place in 2025

Southwark Fireworks

Sadly there won’t be a Southwark Fireworks display for the foreseeable future. After events had to be cancelled for the past few years, there are currently no plans for its return. Previously one of the most central firework displays in London, it also had one of the best locations, with Southwark’s bonfire night event taking place in Southwark Park along the south bank of the Thames with great views back over the river.

Light Up the Night at Wembley Park

Combining both bonfire night and Hindu festival of lights, Diwali, into one mesmerising event, Wembley Park’s Light Up the Night was always a huge hit with families – the event hasn’t taken place for the past couple of years, and isn’t taking place in 2025 though.

Fawkes Festival, Ravenscourt Park

There’s been a Bonfire night celebration with a difference in Hammersmith & Fulham over the past couple of years, with The Fawkes Festival featuring a lights and laser show instead of gunpowder and smoke. However, the festival is taking part in Scotland this year, with no current plans for an alternative display.

Victoria Park/Tower Hamlets Fireworks

After 2021’s even had to be cancelled, there has been no return of the themed free firework night festivities since and it looks unlikely that East Londoners will be able head to Victoria Park in South Hackney for the Tower Hamlets firework display and bonfire night festivities in 2025 either.
