Tokyo Fall Foliage Forecast 2025: Specific Spots


The time-honored way to pay homage to the wondrous autumn season in Japan (apart from snacking on fall-inspired sweets and treats) is to get outdoors and simply revel in the beauty of the changing leaves. But when is the best time to do that?

Below, you’ll find some of the most stunning places to see autumn leaves in Tokyo — and when they’re at their peak.

Tokyo fall foliage forecast 2025

Tokyo autumn leaves are expected to peak from the end of November to early December.

The latest forecast says that the best viewing time to see red leaves in Tokyo is December 2, and the best time to see yellow leaves in Tokyo is November 27. That’s slightly later than usual.

Note that the outlying areas of Tokyo are on a different schedule (see below).
