Hyatt Just Opened a New Hotel at Cancun International Airport

Cancun is home to one of the busiest airports in the wider region, and now it has a signature hotel. Hyatt Place Cancun Airport has officially opened, becoming the first Hyatt Place in Quintana Roo and expanding Hyatt’s presence in one of Mexico’s busiest travel hubs. The new-build hotel sits adjacent to Cancun International Airport and launches as part of Hyatt’s growing partnership with Parks Hospitality Holdings, with additional projects planned across the country.

The opening introduces a modern option for travelers who want quick access to the airport, the Tren Maya station and nearby attractions in Cancun and the Riviera Maya. A complimentary 24-hour shuttle connects guests to all terminals, reinforcing the property’s focus on convenience and easy transit.

Airport Location Anchors New Opening
The hotel’s location puts guests within minutes of major activity centers, including business complexes, Go Grand Outlet Riviera Maya, Xoximilco Cancun and El Tinto Golf Course. Delfines Beach and downtown Cancun are about 15 minutes away, giving travelers a straightforward base for short stays and connections.

Lobby and Common Areas Built for Transit-Friendly Stays
Inside, high ceilings and open public spaces accommodate working travelers, families and short-stop guests. Flexible seating, coworking areas and communal zones are designed for quick meetings, laptop time or relaxing between flights. A 24-hour fitness center, along with a nearly 50-foot outdoor pool and deck, round out the core amenities.

General Manager Andrea Medina said the hotel aims to offer a “seamless and stress-free experience” for guests who need efficiency without sacrificing comfort.

Guestrooms Feature Local Materials and Functional Layouts
The 156 guestrooms and suites include dedicated workspaces, free Wi-Fi and the brand’s Cozy Corner sofa. The interiors use a calming green and brown palette, along with Yucatán Macedonia stone and Santo Tomás stone, tying the design to local influences. Guests also have access to the Hyatt Place Necessities program for items to buy, borrow or use at no charge.

Food and Beverage Available Around the Clock
Hyatt Place Cancun Airport offers complimentary breakfast for all guests. The Market remains open 24 hours for packaged snacks, while The Placery serves salads, burgers, sandwiches and regional dishes including sopa de lima, along with alcoholic beverages at the lobby bar.

Meetings and Events Included in New Build
The property has nearly 1,500 square feet of meeting space with natural light, plus an outdoor deck for small events and social gatherings. The venue is designed to support both business functions and informal celebrations.

Part of a Broader Hyatt Expansion in Mexico
The opening marks the first completed project under Hyatt’s multi-deal collaboration with Parks Hospitality Holdings. Additional hotels — Park Hyatt Cancun in 2026, Grand Hyatt Los Cabos in 2027 and Grand Hyatt Mexico City Santa Fe in 2028 — are already in development.
