Sandals Hosts Los Angeles Fundraiser During Sabrina Carpenter to Support Jamaica’s Hurricane Recovery
Sandals Resorts brought its Caribbean mission to Los Angeles last week, hosting a private fundraiser at the Hyde Lounge during the Sabrina Carpenter concert to support Jamaica’s ongoing recovery from Hurricane Melissa.
The event spotlighted the work of the Sandals Foundation, which has already directed more than $1 million toward relief supplies, community support and long-term rebuilding projects across affected areas. Thursday’s gathering invited guests to contribute to the foundation’s next phase of assistance, as the island continues stabilizing infrastructure and aiding families hardest hit by the storm.
A number of well-known attendees joined the effort, including Jennifer Affleck, Stephen Baldwin, Daniel Durant, Brian Austin Green, Julianne Hough, Jordan L. Jones, Camilla Luddington, Matthew Lawrence, Keyla Monterroso Mejia, Sasha Pieterse, Tanya Rad, Britt Stewart, Tiffani Thiessen and Becca Tilley. Their presence helped draw attention to the scale of the recovery and the foundation’s work on the ground.
The evening served as both a fundraiser and a reminder of how closely tied Jamaica’s tourism sector is to the wider community.
As cleanup and reconstruction continue, the Sandals Foundation said it will remain focused on long-term resilience projects — from repairing homes and schools to supporting local organizations working across the island.
