16 best things to do in Mallorca to make the most of your next trip

The quality of incredible things to do in Mallorca has come leaps and bounds of the last few years. Once upon a time, there was just the beach – and if it rained on Mallorca and the beach was off, a museum, a monument, or a trip to the shops were practically the only options. Recent years have seen significant improvement, with the range of activities expanding to include cultural and sporting events, wellness, art and craft workshops, food and drink, and more.

Nina Moons, creator of the pioneering events app and website The Calendar Mallorca, identifies several current trends. One is active, hands-on experience: running and cycling challenges are popular, and various sports clubs on the island offer day rates for visitors. (Two good ones are Bendinat Urban Country Club and Sóller Tennis and Pádel Club.)

Adventure travel is also taking off, with specialist operators offering open-air adventures in the island’s mountainous interior. Culture, nature and wellbeing mix and mingle in the island’s packed agenda. You might find a gym in an art gallery, a pop-up sauna amid the forests of the Tramuntana, or a massage followed by a gourmet brunch in a luxury hotel. But special-occasion spa treatments are taking second place to what Moons calls ‘everyday wellness’ – which means a move away from destination retreats and fancy spas to communal saunas, group hikes and socially oriented fitness spaces.

If Mallorca residents have long yearned for the months of October to March as a respite from the hot and hectic summers, wised-up visitors are now getting the message, too. Winter on the island is open season for flea markets and rural produce marts, for jazz nights, classical music festivals, and cutting-edge art events. (Culture-vultures take note: Palma de Mallorca is a candidate for European Capital of Culture 2031.) Keep reading for the best things to do in Mallorca in 2026.

Spanish Speaking Club

“Come with your broken Spanish and leave speaking full-on”, promises card-carrying mallorquina Pia Ferrer, whose Spanish Speaking Club brings together would-be Spanish speakers for collective chatting and ‘guaranteed laughs’ from 5.30-7pm every Wednesday at the Bar Bellver in El Terreno (Palma). There’s ‘zero pressure’, says Ferrer, and the emphasis is above all on building confidence. (The €20 price includes coffee or a soft drink.) The Club is part of her innovative Spanish By Living brand, which combines language learning with cookery classes, cinema outings and bingo nights. Now you’re talking.
