After a Banner Year, St Vincent and the Grenadines Is Seeing More Visitor Growth

It’s no secret that St Vincent and the Grenadines had its best year ever in 2024, thanks almost completely to the opening of the new Sandals St Vincent resort.  Now, the archipelago continues to see surging tourism numbers, Caribbean Journal has learned. The destination’s stayover arrivals were up 12.9 percent in the first quarter of 2025, compared to the same period in 2024, according to data from the Caribbean Tourism Organization.

That was actually the second-highest growth rate of any destination in the Caribbean right now now, surpassed only by white-hot Curacao at 16.6 percent in the first quarter.

It’s actually not a coincidence that Curacao is in that position — it was Sandals’ entry to that market back in 2022 that helped usher in its current tourism renaissance.

Of course, the destination is more than just one resort, with a host of must-visit islands. That includes charming, cheerful Bequia, home to lovely boutique hotels like The Liming; Canouan, an island that has become one of the region’s most exclusive luxury getaways with resorts like the Mandarin Oriental and the new Soho Beach House; and, of course, Mustique, the private island that’s a celebrity and Royal favorite.

If you’re thinking about planning a vacation to these islands right now, you should explore our guide to the best hotels in St Vincent and the Grenadines, which takes you to ultra-luxe retreats and hidden-away boutiques.

Heading to St Vincent? It’s never been easier to visit, with nonstop flights at $524 from Miami on American Airlines right now.
