A Last Taste of Peru: The Club, the New VIP Lounge at Lima Airport

The new international Airport, Jorge Chávez, features its first operational VIP lounge: The Club – LIM. Located on the second floor above the food hall, just to the right after passing through international security, this lounge offers a much-needed pause from the hustle of travel.

A Last Taste of Peru: The Club, the New VIP Lounge at Lima Airport

Designed by Airport Dimensions, the lounge spans 1,836 square meters and accommodates up to 454 guests. It aims to deliver comfort, connectivity, and a curated sample of what Peru does best — thoughtful design, warm service, and flavors that linger even after departure.

Smooth Access

The Club is the only VIP lounge in the new terminal. Entry is located at the end of the hallway past security and is managed by a reception desk with up to four check-in terminals for fast processing. Access is granted through memberships, such as Priority Pass and LoungeKey, as well as partnerships with airlines like Iberia, KLM, Air France, Plus Ultra, Air Europa, and United Airlines, or with a Walk-In Fee of USD 55.

IN THE KNOW: The lounge had moderate occupancy during our visit and virtually no waiting time; please be aware that you can access it 3 hours before departure.

A Design That Feels Local

The atmosphere is a blend of warm minimalism and casual luxury, enriched by details that celebrate Peruvian identity: contemporary artwork at the entrance, by Alejandra Ortiz de Zevallos, and handwoven textiles throughout the space, courtesy of Yerko Zlatar.

The layout includes well-defined zones for dining, working, relaxing, socializing, showers, restrooms, a meeting room, and a closed-off children’s area. Individual rest pods are also available.

Comfort and Functionality

The lounge features ergonomic chairs, chaise longues, shared and individual workstations, side tables, reading lamps, and a wide range of power outlets, including types A, B, C, and USB. Dedicated Wi-Fi is stable and fast.

The bathrooms are spacious and clean. The showers are bright and well-equipped with Geneva Guild toiletries, made in Italy, carefully formulated to favor gentle plant extracts. To take off fully relaxed.

A Farewell with Peruvian Flavor

Beyond the standard buffet, which changes throughout the day, the highlight is the signature food offering curated by Chef Ignacio Barrios. Two dishes stand out as a final tribute to the country’s culinary heritage:

  • creamy quinoa with ají amarillo served with sautéed chicken and a fresh chalaquita.
  • Huayro potatoes with fish fillet, topped with a sauce inspired by anticuchos, and ají with huacatay for balance and boldness.

These signature dishes showcase the depth of local ingredients, including potatoes, chili peppers, and quinoa, and arecrafted to leave a lasting impression. It’s a refined and memorable send-off for those departing the country.

As for beverages, there are water, soft drink, and juice dispensers, a bar serving both classic and signature cocktails, and automated coffee machines by Britt, as well as a Barista on the bar using coffee from Cusco in both cases.

Overall Experience

Noise levels fluctuate throughout the day, but the space remains clean, orderly, and welcoming. The service staff is discreet yet attentive, and the atmosphere allows travelers to relax or stay productive.

The lounge is ideal for frequent flyers, business travelers, families on long-haul connections, or anyone looking to escape the crowded terminal. While there’s room for improvement — such as shower water pressure and restroom supplies — The Club – LIM is a strong first step toward redefining the airport experience in Lima.

A calm, efficient lounge with a subtle but genuine sense of place — this is the kind of farewell Peru deserves.
