And it doesn’t end there, head above the water and step into the savannah for an African safari experience. From Big Five game drives to peaceful plains, these packages offer the best of both of Africa’s worlds.

Saint Helena
Spend 11 unforgettable days split between the remote island of Saint Helena and South Africa’s iconic Kruger National Park. Our Saint Helena diving package is the only one of its kind, offering you the rare chance to dive in the Atlantic Ocean halfway between Africa and South America, on one of the most isolated islands in the world!
Most of the dive sites are found near James Town and James Bay, protected from the strong Atlantic currents and swells. Saint Helena’s landscapes vary from volcanic cliffs and towering dunes to luscious hills and white-sand beaches, the island is a dream destination for both divers and adventurers.
Saint Helena’s waters are home to reefs, rare endemic species, and incredible marine megafauna. The island’s experimental marine protection zone has helped preserve an ecosystem unlike anywhere else. Whether you’re snorkelling with gentle giants or diving beneath historic wrecks, this is a destination that stays with you long after you’ve dried off.
Diving Highlights
Peak diving season runs from January to June, with Saint Helena’s warm waters and consistently excellent visibility (30–40m in summer, 15–20m in winter) making it a diver’s paradise. February and March are particularly special, offering visibility of up to 45 metres.
The visibility is needed as you search for the seven notable wreck sites the island has to offer, including:
- SS Papanui (6–14m): A beginner-friendly wreck perfect for day and night dives
- MV Frontier (~28m): A deeper wreck suited for advanced divers
- RFA Darkdale (30–43m): A near-intact WWII-era oil tanker and war grave
- Witte Leeuw (1613): A Dutch East India Company shipwreck located near the Darkdale
Marine Life
Over 78 marine species have been recorded in Saint Helena’s waters, with at least 50 of them endemic to the island. Divers often spot the rare Saint Helena butterflyfish, flounder, pufferfish, white seabream, and wrasse. Frequent megafauna sightings include Chilean devil rays, dolphins, sea turtles, and large pelagic species.
One of the biggest highlights of Saint Helena is its annual whale shark aggregation. From mid-January through April, the waters host one of the most balanced male and female whale shark gatherings in the world. Encounters happen via snorkelling or boat, with January and February offering the best chances.

Don’t miss Manta Point, where ribbon-tail and spotted eagle rays are commonly sighted during peak seasons.
Aliwal Shoal is suitable for Open Water to Advanced divers. For wreck lovers, the best time for to dive a shipwreck is during the cooler South African winter months (June–August). Shark activity peaks June to November, and humpback whales can be seen migrating from May through November.
