American Airlines Is Adding Twice-Daily Nonstops From Chicago to Montego Bay
Chicagoans dreaming of white sand instead of snow now have twice as many chances to make it happen. Starting Nov. 2, American Airlines will launch up to two daily nonstop flights from Chicago O’Hare International Airport to Montego Bay, Jamaica. The move significantly boosts lift to one of the Caribbean’s most popular destinations — just in time for winter travel season.
The added service nearly doubles American’s current capacity on the route, giving Midwest travelers more flexibility and convenience for long weekend getaways or full-week beach escapes. Flights will operate on Boeing 737-800 aircraft, offering a mix of Main Cabin and First Class seats.
It’s another chapter in Jamaica’s airlift success story. Montego Bay’s Sangster International Airport is already the busiest gateway in the country, with nonstop flights from cities across the U.S. and Canada. The destination continues to rank as one of the most accessible in the region, and this latest expansion from a legacy carrier is a strong vote of confidence heading into peak season.
For travelers, more options mean better prices, more chances to snag reward seats, and a smoother experience — especially for those connecting from smaller cities through American’s Chicago hub.
American Airlines has been steadily increasing its footprint across the Caribbean, and the new Montego Bay service joins other recent expansions to destinations like Nassau and Aruba.
As cold weather returns to the Windy City, warm breezes and jerk chicken will be just a few hours away.
