Australia’s first 25hours Hotel set to breathe new life into a Sydney icon.
A new hotel is coming to Sydney, and it’s all about celebrating local creativity. In an Australian first, 25Hours Hotels is set to open The Olympia on 1-11 Oxford Street at the intersection of five Sydney Villages – Paddington, Surry Hills, Darlinghurst, Kings Cross and Moore Park.

This isn’t meant to be like other hotel chains; it’s a cool hotel chain, citing an enduring philosophy of embracing the cultural fabric of the cities it opens in. In Sydney, that means an homage to Sydney’s creative past, with views to become a Sydney icon for culture, artistic expression and community spirit.
25hours Hotel The Olympia will open on the heritage-listed site of the former West Olympia Theatre and the Grand Pacific Blue Room – two establishments that once shaped the city’s art and social scene. Bold design and storytelling will feature throughout the hotel to nod to this past, like dividing all 109 guest rooms into ‘Dreamers’ and ‘Renegades’ – famous tropes of film protagonists.

Dreamer rooms are light-filled and airy, with soft blue tones and curated lighting to evoke a sense of calm, just like the classic romantic dreamer. Then, the Renegade rooms provide a rebellious contrast with moodier tones and darker colour palettes, bold carpets and artwork. In between, the lobby will be designed as a tribute to film culture, with theatre pieces peppered throughout the property.

Besides the rooms, 25hours Hotel The Olympia will be home to four dining venues: The Palomar restaurant (a Sydney rendition of Studio Paskin’s famous London venue), The Mulwray wine and cocktail bar, Jacob The Angel coffee house and a lush all-day rooftop bar named Monica, with bold patterned floors and local murals to create a nostalgic 1960s Hollywood filter.

25hours Hotel The Olympia will open on 25 September, with bookings available now. The local community will be among the first to experience it, thanks to a special events program planned to coincide with the opening.
