Best Cotswold hotels with spas

For many, myself included, the House Spa is the highlight of a stay at Dormy House. The Thermal Suite is designed as a modern take on the classic fire-and-ice ritual, encouraging guests to move between hot and cold therapies for a full sensory reset. Not one for the faint-hearted, but a session here will leave you feeling energised in ways a nap could only dream of (pun intended).

Elsewhere, there’s an aromatic steam room, an experience shower with settings that range from ‘forest mist’ to ‘tropical rain’ and an invigorating ‘arctic blast’. In the Himalayan salt sauna, fine salt particles are released into the air to support respiratory health and soothe inflammation while gently strengthening the immune system. For the final contrast, and something truly unique, the snow shower provides a bracing rush of cool flakes that wake up the senses and tighten the skin.

The indoor pool, outdoor hot tub, gym and relaxation areas with countryside views all make this spa somewhere you’ll want to spend hours drifting through, and even without a treatment, the experience is sublime. I’d recommend booking one, though – where else are you going to find a massage named the Golden Truffle Experience, where a massage and facial that combines Champagne, Silk, Diamonds, Gold and Black Truffle to leave you positively glowy?
