Caribbean Airlines Just Started Nonstop Service Between Puerto Rico and Dominica
Caribbean Airlines has launched new nonstop flights linking San Juan, Puerto Rico and Dominica, expanding regional connectivity in the Eastern Caribbean. The service began Aug. 15 and will operate year-round.
The route gives travelers — especially those coming from the U.S. mainland — a faster, easier way to reach Dominica. By connecting through San Juan, passengers can bypass crowded gateways like Miami or New York, cutting down on travel time and stress.
Dominica officials say the flights also open up new possibilities for multi-destination trips, with Puerto Rico serving as both a hub and a vacation stopover. At the same time, Puerto Rican tourism leaders see the link as part of a wider effort to encourage Caribbean-wide travel.
The new flights are part of Caribbean Airlines’ updated commercial schedule, which adds more options for regional travel into the busy late-summer and Christmas seasons. The airline has also expanded service between Dominica and Trinidad, with three weekly nonstops that connect onward to New York.
With these additions, Caribbean Airlines is betting on demand for easier, more direct travel within the Caribbean, helping to bring smaller destinations like Dominica closer to major visitor markets.
What about cost? The tickets start at around $362.81 roundtrip. The flight takes a little less than two hours.
