Carnival Is Expanding Its Florida-Caribbean Cruises With New Ships, New Ports, and a Taste of Italy
There’s a new wave of fun coming to Florida. Carnival Cruise Line just opened reservations for its 2027–28 Caribbean sailings, rolling out fresh itineraries from both Miami and Port Canaveral that mix signature favorites with new twists — including the South Florida debut of the “Fun Italian Style” Carnival Venezia.
Beginning May 2027, three ships — Carnival Venezia, Carnival Magic and Carnival Vista — will offer a wide variety of six- and eight-day cruises to the Caribbean’s marquee destinations. Think Aruba and Curaçao, Half Moon Cay and Grand Turk, Isla Tropicale and the highly anticipated Celebration Key. It’s Carnival’s latest move to give travelers more ways to island-hop from Florida’s most convenient ports, with itineraries that stretch from quick getaways to immersive, multi-island journeys.
For travelers who love warm breezes, easy departures and plenty of onboard energy, this is a season to circle on the calendar.
Carnival Venezia: A New Italian-Inspired Chapter in Miami
The biggest headline is the arrival of Carnival Venezia to Miami. After a seasonal run from Port Canaveral, the ship will begin sailing from Miami in May 2027, offering six- and eight-day Caribbean voyages through April 2028.
The six-day itineraries blend western Caribbean favorites — including stops at Celebration Key, Jamaica (Ocho Rios or Montego Bay), Grand Cayman, Grand Turk and Amber Cove. Eight-day sailings go even further, reaching the ABC islands — Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao — along with Amber Cove for a classic southern Caribbean circuit.
On board, Venezia brings something fresh to Carnival’s lineup: Italian flair. With Il Viaggio restaurant, Amari and Frizzante bars, the red-and-gold Teatro Rosso theater, and touches of Venice woven into the décor, the ship blends Carnival’s classic atmosphere with a distinctive Mediterranean style. Add favorites like Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse, Bonsai Sushi, Heroes Tribute Bar and the top-deck WaterWorks park, and you’ve got one of Carnival’s most vibrant ships yet.
Carnival Magic: More Variety From Miami
Carnival Magic will continue to homeport in Miami with an expanded lineup of six- and eight-day cruises across the Eastern, Western and Southern Caribbean. The itineraries are designed for flexibility: quick escapes to Celebration Key and Half Moon Cay, classic runs to Grand Turk, San Juan, St. Thomas and St. Maarten, and longer voyages to the southern gems of Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao.
Magic is a Dream-class ship built for lively days at sea, with its ropes course and SportSquare, sprawling WaterWorks water park, and a wide array of dining — from Guy’s Burger Joint and Cucina del Capitano to BlueIguana Cantina. It’s one of the most popular ships in Carnival’s fleet for good reason.
Carnival Vista: A Year-Round Caribbean Gateway at Port Canaveral
Up the coast, Carnival Vista is cementing Port Canaveral as one of the top Caribbean cruise hubs with a robust year-round program. The itineraries include weeklong adventures across The Bahamas, Eastern Caribbean and Western Caribbean, featuring destinations like Celebration Key, Half Moon Cay, Isla Tropicale, San Juan, Montego Bay and St. Thomas.
Vista’s appeal lies in its mix of thrills and relaxation. Guests can bike high above the sea on SkyRide, splash at WaterWorks, or retreat to Serenity, the adults-only deck. Family Harbor staterooms and multiple dining venues round out the offerings for families and couples alike.
