CHTA Launches Caribbean Hotel Auction to Support Jamaica Hurricane Relief

The Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association’s Education Foundation has launched a regional silent auction to accelerate hurricane recovery in Jamaica after Hurricane Melissa. Hotels and tourism partners from across the Caribbean have contributed multi-night stays and resort experiences, creating one of the foundation’s largest fundraising initiatives of the year.

The auction, now live online, features stays across Antigua, Aruba, Barbados, Grenada, Jamaica, Panama and Saint Lucia. Every winning bid goes directly toward funding education, training and recovery support for workers and communities affected by the storm. The foundation says the goal is simple: channel meaningful, immediate assistance to those who need it most.

In Antigua, travelers can bid on weeklong stays at Hammock Cove, Pineapple Beach Club and The Verandah. Aruba’s Manchebo Beach Resort & Spa has contributed a five-night stay with breakfast, while Barbados’ The Club Barbados is offering a seven-night experience. Grenada’s contribution comes from Spice Island Beach Resort with a two-night all-inclusive stay.

Jamaica has the largest group of participating resorts, including Couples Swept Away Resort with a four-night all-inclusive stay; Half Moon with a two-night stay with breakfast; Jamaica Pegasus; multiple Round Hill options offering nights with breakfast; and S Hotel Montego Bay with a four-night all-inclusive package.

Panama’s offering comes from Los Establos Boutique Inn with a seven-night stay. In Saint Lucia, travelers can bid on multi-night packages from Bay Gardens Beach Resort & Spa, Calabash Cove Resort and Spa, and Rabot Hotel Saint Lucia by Hotel Chocolat.

The foundation says donations and bids made through the auction website are tax deductible. The full list of experiences and bidding details is available at the auction portal, with participation open to travelers and supporters worldwide.
