Crucian Christmas Has a Star-Studded Lineup

St. Croix’s biggest celebration of music and culture is set to return this holiday season. The Crucian Christmas Festival will kick off Dec. 27, bringing a week of parades, concerts, food, and island tradition to the streets of Frederiksted. Organizers promise a mix of new experiences and beloved customs, highlighting what makes the Virgin Islands’ winter season one of the Caribbean’s most festive.

At daybreak on Dec. 31, the island will come alive for J’ouvert morning, when thousands of revelers dance through town before gathering near the Buddhoe Park Bandstand. Later that day, the annual Food Fair will showcase the island’s culinary heritage with local favorites and flavors from across the Caribbean.

“The Crucian Christmas Festival continues to be one of our most cherished cultural celebrations,” said Jennifer Matarangas-King, Commissioner-Nominee of Tourism. “This year’s lineup brings together the best of local talent, regional stars, and international performers, giving visitors and locals alike an unforgettable celebration of our culture, music, and community.”

This year’s Festival Village will honor St. Croix’s own Xpress Band and feature a lineup that includes Voice, Nadia Batson, Romain Virgo, Morgan Heritage, and D’Yani. Returning home to perform are local favorites Nikki Brooks, Adam O, and Pumpa. A special tribute to the late Unkle Sasso — legendary Virgin Islands Bass Rhythm and Melody artist — will take place during the Soca Monarch competition on Dec. 29.

The celebrations will conclude on Jan. 3 following the Adults Parade, when international soca star Kes the Band takes the stage to close out the Festival Village with a high-energy concert featuring hits like HelloWotless, and Savannah Grass.

“We are thrilled to offer an updated schedule that honors our traditions while ensuring the safety of all festivalgoers through coordination with our partners at the Virgin Islands Police Department,” said Alvin Burke Jr., Assistant Director of Festivals. “From sunrise J’ouvert to the closing concert with Kes the Band, every event is designed to showcase the vibrant energy and talent of St. Croix.”
