Alexander Iles founded Iles Tours in 2013, providing guided tours of the North East of England. Since then, Alex has grown Iles Tours, providing full-day and multi-day in-depth historical and archaeological tours of the North East of England and the Scottish borders.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Alex deepened his love of archaeology and returned to Newcastle University to pursue a master’s degree, graduating in 2023.

Since then, alongside Iles Tours, Alex has also worked as a freelance archaeologist while continuing his research into the region’s history, culture and archaeology. This is always apparent during the tours and brings the history of this amazing region to life for any visitor!
