Ever Vessel review: Here’s why Ever Vessel’s Multi is my new favourite water bottle for travel days

Ever Vessel review: Here’s why Ever Vessel’s Multi is my new favourite water bottle for travel days

A reusable water bottle is a handbag essential, both on holiday and at home. The necessity of this now ubiquitous item has transformed the humble water canister into a style statement – we’ve not forgotten the hype surrounding the viral Stanley Quencher, nor how difficult it was to purchase one for over a year after its five minutes of TikTok fame. Now there are thousands of bottles out there each promising to fulfil your every requirement – but I’ve found one that I think is the best so far for frequent travellers (the Stanley is far too cumbersome to pack in your carry-on or underseat cabin bag) in Ever Vessel’s Multi bottle.

At 500ml, the Multi toes the line between being large enough to see me through a half-day’s activities and small enough to slip comfortably into my backpack’s bottle holder. It’s double-wall insulated so is suitable for hot and cold drinks and, after a good test, I’m really impressed with its insulating qualities. Cold drinks have stayed that way all day and, while I’ve not tested the full 12-hour staying power for hot drinks, I can confirm that my pre-work tea consistently remains hot for the duration of my 50-minute commute.

I prefer using this bottle for hot drinks over my Owala. It has a wider lip and comes with a removable tea strainer, which is not something I’ve seen in a water bottle before. I appreciate this as someone who will always choose tea over coffee. I’ve thrown in multiple kinds of loose leaf, but in the mornings I’ve been sticking to a trusty green teabag with a few slices of lemon.

I’ve also got the optional whisk attachment (£4) for protein shakes, which has been great for weekends pre-gym. It’s another thoughtful touch – I’ve been impressed by how hard this bottle works throughout the day, and especially for frequent travellers. Every carry-on only aficionado knows the joy of finding products that do double-duty, and this hot/cold/whisk/strainer combination makes the bottle a true multipurpose hero.

There’s not much to say by way of drawbacks, but it is a little small for whole-day adventures. I recently went on a ranch trip where we needed a bottle large enough for a full day’s horse riding, and this was nowhere near big enough, so I had to switch to another one. Saying that, the brand does have a Maxi (750ml) and Super Maxi (1L) version, which you can buy the tea strainer (and whisk) for separately. If you favour the heft of the Stanley cup but want something a more manageable shape to slip easily in a bag or cup holder, or for full-day excursions on holiday, go for this size.

The brand also says that it’s suitable for use in the dishwasher up to 55C. I’ve washed the strainer itself in the dishwasher, but psychologically prefer to hand wash insulated bottles as historically I’ve thought that dishwashers damage the insulating qualities. I won’t take the risk myself, but if this bottle can withstand the heat, then I’m impressed.

Overall, this is an attractive hardworking bottle that’s far easier to tote about than your chunky Stanley cup and more versatile, too. If you’re looking for a new ubiquitous companion to see you through the day, this is a stellar option. You can shop the Ever Vessel bottles and all the accessories on the brand’s website.
