Hilton Just Opened a New St. Thomas Hotel With Harbor Views, a Pool Deck, and a Prime Spot on the Water

Hilton has made its debut in the U.S. Virgin Islands with the opening of Hampton by Hilton St. Thomas, a 126-room waterfront hotel directly across from Havensight Mall and within minutes of Charlotte Amalie’s cruise pier. More than just Hilton’s first property in the territory, the project is also the first newly built hotel to open in the USVI in decades— a milestone that signals fresh investment in the region’s hospitality landscape.

The property, owned by Haven Development and managed by Hotel Equities, blends Hampton by Hilton’s signature service culture with a strong sense of place. Interiors feature Caribbean teals and blues, while public spaces are designed for both business and leisure travelers. Guests can enjoy a 3,800-square-foot patio, a 2,000-square-foot pool deck, an 850-square-foot event space, a fitness center, and a full-service public bar and lounge, The Helm, with views over the harbor.

Hospitality and Location

Stays include Hampton’s complimentary hot breakfast with a signature waffle station, seasonal toppings, and buffet selections. The Helm offers small plates and beverages throughout the day, drawing both guests and locals. The hotel’s location places it 1.5 miles from downtown Charlotte Amalie, 4.1 miles from Cyril E. King Airport, and 4.5 miles from Magens Bay Beach. Its proximity to the cruise pier makes day passes a convenient option for visiting passengers.

Pricing, Value, and Booking with Points

Introductory rates at Hampton by Hilton St. Thomas start at around $236 per night, with Hilton Honors members able to redeem Points or use the program’s flexible “Points and Money” slider to combine cash with as few or as many Points as they choose. Depending on the season and availability, it gives travelers a way to save on peak dates while still enjoying a new-build, waterfront property in a prime location.

Because Hilton Honors members also get exclusive discounted rates when booking direct, free standard Wi-Fi, and digital check-in through the Hilton Honors app, the combination of Points redemption and added benefits makes this property a compelling option for both frequent Hilton guests and first-time visitors to St. Thomas.

Hampton by Hilton is one of Hilton’s largest and fastest-growing brands, with more than 3,100 properties worldwide and over 800 hotels in development. In the Caribbean and Latin America, Hilton operates 65 Hampton hotels across 15 countries, with nearly 25 more in the pipeline. Across the region, Hilton has more than 290 hotels open and 140 projects in development, it said.

A Wave of New Hotels in the USVI

The opening of Hampton by Hilton St. Thomas comes as the U.S. Virgin Islands experiences a rare wave of new hotel activity. On St. Thomas, Pink Palm Hotel has added a boutique, adults-only option in a hillside setting above Charlotte Amalie. Over on St. John, The Saint recently opened, bringing a stylish, contemporary property to Cruz Bay. Together, these openings — along with Hilton’s first USVI hotel — mark one of the most significant periods of hotel growth the territory has seen in years, broadening the range of accommodations for both leisure travelers and business visitors.

Easier Than Ever to Get to St. Thomas

Reaching St. Thomas has never been more convenient. As a U.S. territory, travelers from the mainland don’t need a passport, and major carriers offer nonstop flights from cities including Miami, New York, Atlanta, Charlotte, and Orlando. Cyril E. King Airport is less than 15 minutes from the hotel, making it possible to land in the morning and be poolside by lunch. With increased airlift over the past two years, it’s easier than ever for both leisure and business travelers to plan a quick getaway.
