JetBlue Is Bringing More Flights to a Caribbean Island Famous For Green Mountains, Chocolate, and Romantic Vacations
You don’t just dive into Saint Lucia. You discover it, glimpse by glimpse, layer by layer. The first view is usually green — impossibly green — as rainforest folds into volcanic ridges and then drops toward the sea. By the time you reach the coast, the island has already shifted your pace. Mornings stretch longer here. Afternoons are for the beach or the hills. Evenings linger, warmed by Creole flavors and salt air.
This winter and spring, getting to Saint Lucia from New England is about to get easier.
JetBlue is adding a second nonstop flight from Boston to Saint Lucia, giving travelers twice-weekly access to one of the Caribbean’s most romantic destinations.
The Flights
Beginning Feb. 15,, JetBlue will operate an additional nonstop Saturday flight between Boston Logan International Airport and Saint Lucia’s Hewanorra International Airport. The new service runs through April 25, complementing JetBlue’s existing year-round Saturday nonstop.
The added flight departs Boston at 11:40 in the morning, landing in Saint Lucia by late afternoon, timed perfectly to get you checked in and on the balcony before sunset. On the return, travelers can choose between an earlier afternoon departure or a later evening flight, allowing you to stretch your final day with one last swim or hillside lunch before heading home.
Together, the two Saturday nonstops give Boston-area travelers significantly more flexibility during peak winter travel season, whether you’re planning a long weekend, a full week away, or something in between.
Why It Matters
Saint Lucia has long been a favorite for couples and honeymooners, but the island has steadily broadened its appeal. Families, adventure travelers, wellness seekers, and luxury travelers all find their lane here, often on the same trip.
Doubling nonstop access from Boston makes Saint Lucia easier to plan and easier to justify, especially in the heart of winter. With fares under $200 one way and seasonal hotel and villa offers across the island, this is the kind of airlift that turns “someday” trips into booked ones.
It also reinforces Saint Lucia’s position as one of the Caribbean’s most balanced destinations. You can split your days between beaches and rainforest, quiet resorts and lively local communities, spa time and hiking trails, all without feeling like you’re choosing one experience over another.
An Island That Rewards Exploration
Saint Lucia is not a single-beach island. It’s a place of contrasts that work together. The west coast is calm and protected, with sandy beaches and clear water. Inland, waterfalls and rainforest trails climb toward the Pitons, the island’s twin volcanic peaks. Food here reflects the island’s Creole-French-Caribbean heritage, with fresh seafood, spices, and local produce shaping nearly every menu.
Sustainable tourism initiatives and community-based experiences have also become a bigger part of the story, giving travelers more ways to connect with the island beyond the resort gates. Whether you’re diving, sailing, hiking, or simply watching the light change over the mountains, Saint Lucia has a way of staying with you.
Where to Stay
Saint Lucia’s hotel scene is as diverse as its landscape, with options that suit everything from family beach trips to once-in-a-lifetime escapes.
Bay Gardens Beach Resort sits on Reduit Beach, one of the island’s most popular stretches of sand. It’s a strong choice if you want an easy, walkable location with access to restaurants, shops, and water sports, paired with the convenience of an all-inclusive option. The vibe is relaxed and welcoming, ideal for travelers who want comfort without formality. It’s also the island’s premier family-owned resort collection (which is also adding a highly-anticipated new resort this year).
Water’s Edge Villas offers a quieter, more residential feel, with spacious accommodations designed for longer stays and travelers who value privacy. Located near the water with easy access to coastal drives and local dining, it works well if you want Saint Lucia to feel like a place you’re living in, not just visiting.
Cap Maison — Cap Estate
Set on a clifftop above the sea in Cap Estate, Cap Maison blends Mediterranean-style architecture with a distinctly Saint Lucian sense of place. The resort’s rooms and villas are spacious and residential in feel, many with private rooftops, plunge pools, and sweeping ocean views. Below, a tucked-away beach cove offers calm water and a relaxed beach club atmosphere, while the resort’s dining is among the island’s most respected. What we like about Cap Maison is how it balances refinement with warmth — it feels polished but never stiff
Jade Mountain is the island’s most iconic luxury resort, set high above the sea with sweeping views of the Pitons. Each open-air sanctuary is designed to dissolve the line between indoors and out, turning the landscape into part of the room itself. It’s a destination for travelers marking something special, where the setting is as memorable as the stay.
Looking Ahead
With JetBlue’s expanded nonstop service from Boston, Saint Lucia becomes one of the most accessible premium Caribbean escapes from New England this winter. More flights mean more flexibility, better pricing, and an easier path to an island that continues to deliver depth, beauty, and a sense of place.
If you’ve been waiting for the right moment to plan a Saint Lucia trip, this winter just gave you one.
