Margot Robbie guide to London: fancy pub lunches, walking tours and afternoon tea
For British Vogue’s January 2026 cover story starring Margot Robbie, the Aussie actor – soon to be Emerald Fennell’s Cathy in Wuthering Heights – took me out for lunch at… the Hampstead branch of Ottolenghi. You see, the former Londoner, who now mainly lives in LA but still has a flat in Notting Hill, is a regular at her local Ottolenghi, and knew it was a failsafe. (Our order? Sharing plates of the roasted carrot and feta, aubergine, and lemony cabbage salads, the lamb koftas and a glass of Riesling for Robbie.)
Back in her early twenties, she, of course, famously occupied a house share in Clapham and frequented Infernos. But now, as a bonafide A-lister and new mum, what are her current favourite hotspots in the capital? Below, a quick-fire guide to Margot Robbie’s London.
What do you miss most about being in London full-time?
The parks, honestly. You really take them for granted when you live here.
Your favourite park?
Hampstead Heath is gorgeous, and so is Regent’s Park and Kensington Gardens. All my friends have dogs they need to walk, and it’s nice because you can have a bottle of wine in the park here. In Australia, that’s not legal – you can’t drink outside.
Your favourite restaurants?
I always go to Bao when I’m in London. My favourite place for Chinese food right now is Min Jiang in Kensington. It’s so yummy. In Notting Hill, The Fat Badger is so much fun right now, and I love the Mince on Toast and the Lobster and Monkfish Pie at The Pelican, if we’re talking about fancy pubs. I love those guys [owners James Gummer and Phil Winser] – every time they open a new place, it’s epic.
Who makes the best coffee in London?
Amoret in Notting Hill is the best coffee in London, in my humble opinion. I’ve even done a coffee-making class there. I love coffee, but I also just love learning anything. I was like, “Cool, I want to learn how to roast beans.”
Buns from Home. It’s a must for the sneaky treats I love to eat.
I love doing high tea in London. I love the ceremony of it all, and I just love tea and scones. When we were shooting Wuthering Heights, Jacob [Elordi] told me he’d never had high tea. I was like, “What?! We’re shooting in London. We all have to go to high tea.” So, we all went – Jacob, Shazad [Latif], Alison [Oliver], Hong [Chau] and I. We went to The Ritz because I hadn’t done high tea there before. We all had to dress fancy. It was really fun.
The best bar?
After tea at The Ritz, we went to The Wolseley to have martinis. That’s also such an institution and I love going there for a martini. I also love Gordon’s.
One of my go-tos when people come to town are walking tours. I love them. The Jack the Ripper walking tour and the Ghost, Ghouls and Gallows walking tour are excellent. I highly recommend them. Also the Churchill War Rooms and the London Dungeon. I love doing touristy shit.
