MSC Meraviglia Is Moving to Miami, With New Cruises to the Caribbean Next Year

Miami is the cruising capital, particularly for the Caribbean, and it’s increasingly a power center for the newly US-focused cruise brand MSC.

MSC Meraviglia, one of the most ambitious ships in the MSC Cruises fleet, is making a big move in winter 2026 — shifting its homeport from New York to Miami and launching a fresh season of Eastern Caribbean itineraries.

It’s a notable change for a ship that’s spent years sailing from the Northeast, and a clear signal that MSC is deepening its presence in the Caribbean’s busiest cruise hub. For travelers, it means easier access to tropical escapes, shorter travel times, and a lineup of sun-drenched destinations that feel made for winter break.

The new cruises from Miami will take guests to Grand TurkCharlotte Amalie in St. Thomas, and Amber Cove in the Dominican Republic, among others — a trio of ports known for postcard beaches, crystal water.

Onboard, the Meraviglia is as much a destination as the ports themselves. The ship was designed to surprise, with a two-story indoor promenade capped by a digital sky, multiple pools and whirlpools, an expansive spa and wellness center, and restaurants that range from Mediterranean-inspired dining to American-style steakhouse favorites. It’s a ship that doesn’t just carry you to the islands — it delivers a resort experience at sea, with touches of European flair throughout.

The move to Miami also brings Meraviglia closer to MSC’s private Bahamian destination, Ocean Cay, which has become a signature stop for the line’s Caribbean sailings. While not confirmed as part of this new itinerary, the ship’s shift south makes future integration with Ocean Cay more likely.

Bookings for the new itineraries are now open, giving travelers a long runway to plan their 2026 winter vacations. With its mix of warm-weather ports, full-scale onboard offerings, and a homeport right in South Florida, MSC Meraviglia’s Miami debut opens the door to a new kind of Caribbean cruise — one that’s just a little more effortless.
