Peru Celebrates: Eight Medals for Pisco
Intipalka and Santiago Queirolo stand out at one of the world’s most prestigious spirits competitions. Peruvian Pisco has won eight medals at the 2025 edition of the San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC), one of the most influential and respected contests in the global spirits industry.

The awards were granted to products from Viñas Queirolo, one of Peru’s most iconic wineries. Their brands, Intipalkaand Santiago Queirolo, stood out for their technical precision and rich sensory profiles. Altogether, the winery earned three Double Gold, four Gold, and two Silver medals—marking a historic achievement for Peruvian pisco.
Intipalka Italia and Santiago Queirolo Acholado received the highest score in their category—98 points—followed by Intipalka Acholado with 96 points. These three expressions were honored with Double Gold Medals, a category reserved for products that receive unanimous top marks from the entire panel of judges.
These medals not only celebrate the excellence of a brand but also reflect the longstanding work of a winery with 145 years of history, founded by Italian immigrants and deeply rooted in the Cañete and Ica valleys, where winemaking traditions have been passed down from generation to generation.
The quality of these award-winning piscos is also the result of mastering complex production techniques, such as fully fermented must and mosto verde (green must), which create diverse aromatic profiles—ranging from floral and fruity to dry and spicy—capable of captivating even the most discerning palates on the international circuit.
At a time when Peruvian cuisine and products are gaining global recognition, this accomplishment adds a new chapter to the story of Pisco as a symbol of identity and excellence. Peru’s presence at competitions of this scale is not only about quality—it’s about sharing a narrative: one of tradition, resilience, and cultural pride expressed through flavor.
