The Best Pescatarian Meal Delivery Services of 2025, Tested & Reviewed
Cons
-
Weekend delivery is not available, and you cannot select a specific delivery time window, so your box may be left outside for part of the day.
Perhaps the most eco- and dietary-conscious meal service of the bunch, Sunbasket is the ideal choice for seasoned pescatarians looking to add some variety to their weekly menu. The delivery service, which offers both meal kits and premade selections, caters to an enormous number of diets, including pescatarian (of course), paleo, keto, vegetarian, gluten-free, and more. Sunbasket prioritizes organic, non-GMO produce and only uses seafood certified by the Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) or Marine Stewardship Council (MSC).
While testing Sunbasket, we appreciated the diverse number of meals available to those following a pescatarian diet, as well as the generously sized portions. The menu — which boasts dishes like salmon with balsamic strawberries and farro sweet pea salad, salmon panzanella salad with crisp lettuce, salsa verde, and Parmesan, and spicy shrimp over smashed cucumber salad — never felt redundant. The recipes provided were simple and quick to cook, with plenty of flavor and interest to keep foodies satisfied. You can also complete your weekly delivery with a selection of grab-and-go goodies, like premade lunches (think teriyaki salmon with broccoli and zucchini), specialty ingredients, and breakfasts. As a bonus, the packaging is eco-friendly, with insulation made of reclaimed denim and ice packs that can be recycled.

Veritable kitchen goddess Martha Stewart’s Marley Spoon brand makes achieving seafood-focused, chef-quality meals a cinch. The teriyaki-glazed salmon and sushi rice, which we tested, is a great example. With recipes that feature fresh, never-frozen seafood and unique flavors, Marley Spoon offers a diverse selection of pescatarian-friendly meals. While the meals can be a bit more advanced than other meal delivery services, you can still keep dinner accessible to whoever you’re feeding, thanks to filters that allow you to narrow your recipe options with categories like “kid-friendly,” “under 30 minutes,” and “one pot meal.”
We were immediately impressed when testing Marley Spoon, especially when it came to the easy-to-navigate app and bevy of delicious recipes. The ingredients always arrived fresh, with enough food to allow for seconds (especially with the sides). Marley Spoon provides over 100 recipes each week, and while the exact number of pescatarian-friendly dishes varies weekly, it also offers customizable meals, allowing you to swap proteins to fit your dietary needs. Eyeing a dish that typically comes with chicken? You can probably swap in salmon to make it suit your pescatarian diet (and tastebuds) instead.

Of all the services we tested, Home Chef offered the best price-to-portion ratio, giving you the most bang for your buck.
For a flavor-forward meal delivery brand that helps you keep your weekly grocery bill in check, look no further than Home Chef. This flexible service caters to a wide variety of palates and needs, including meals that are ready in just 15 minutes flat. Above all, you’ll find plenty of pescatarian-friendly meals on the lineup, including tempting dishes like lemony shrimp alfredo and tomato feta trout with buttermilk-dill zucchini and peppers. Each week, you’ll get to choose from a rotating menu of over 40 meal options, many of which already suit a pescatarian diet. You can also customize many of the meat-based meals to appeal to your dietary restrictions.
While testing Home Chef, we found the entire meal planning process to be easy to navigate and well suited to a variety of household needs. We used both the app and website during testing, and both made it easy to customize our picks to swap proteins or filter through menu options by dietary restriction. There was a wide range of cooking methods and cuisines represented each week, and the recipes themselves were easy to execute, even for beginner chefs. Best of all, Home Chef is approachably priced, especially as you increase the number of servings and/or diners in your meal plan.

Cons
-
These meals cost more per serving than a standard meal kit, and since they’re premade, they can’t be customized.
Love the convenience of eating at home, but crave restaurant-quality meals? CookUnity is the best of both worlds. The unique meal delivery service taps top chefs from around the globe to develop the premade meals you and your family will be tasting. You can choose to receive anywhere from four to 16 dishes each week — but if you’re picturing the TV dinners of your childhood, think again. With CookUnity, you’ll select from a rotating, globally inspired menu that centers on balanced nutrition and bold flavors. Simply enter your family’s dietary needs and browse the robust weekly offerings. The one catch: Because these meals are premade, you won’t be able to swap shrimp or fish into a yummy-sounding dish that is designed to be served with steak or chicken.
While testing CookUnity, we found it incredibly easy to filter through the vast number of menu options to find meals that suited a pescatarian diet, like udon noodle soup with shrimp, vegetables, and puffed tofu, sweet and spicy pineapple salmon with coconut rice and bok choy, or chef Chris Massiah’s grilled jerk shrimp Rasta pasta with penne and sautéed bell peppers. Because each meal arrives fresh (not frozen!) and stays good in your fridge for anywhere between four to seven days, you’ll want to plan out your weekly meal cadence strategically. On the exterior of each package, you’ll get a breakdown of the ingredients and nutrition information, as well as a little bit about the chef and two sets of instructions: one chef-recommended way to prepare the meal on your stovetop or in the oven, and a way to prepare it quickly in the microwave. You’ll pay a bit more for the convenience of not having to lift a finger (or a knife) in the kitchen, but it’s worth it.

One of the first meal delivery services on the market, HelloFresh remains top of the pack thanks to the brand’s easy customization options, which make it a great choice for households that eat pescatarian and often need to swap out the proteins in meals. All the recipes are centered around fresh ingredients and easy instructions, with prep work that is either minimal or already completed for you. Filter through the robust lineup by clicking the pescatarian option, or swap the protein in a steak- or chicken-centered dish to an option that better aligns with your dietary needs. Bonus: There are plenty of quick-to-prepare recipes that can be ready in 30 minutes or less for days when time is of the essence.
Testing HelloFresh was a simple and delicious task, and pescatarians are sure to feel satisfied, thanks to menu options like Parmesan-crusted trout with scallion mashed sweet potatoes and seared salmon and kale salad with mango. The ingredients for every meal come packaged clearly, with easy-to-follow recipes that require little prep work and minimal cookware. It was a bit of a pain to dispose of parts of this delivery kit (like the heavy ice packs), but otherwise, it’s a great way to simplify and diversify a pescatarian diet.

How We Tested Pescatarian Meal Delivery Services
To determine which meal delivery services to test for this piece, our team researched the pescatarian-friendly companies on the market. We then ordered, cooked, and tasted meals from dozens of different meal delivery services before settling on the best choices for this list. While testing each pescatarian meal delivery service, we considered the following criteria:
- Price: For each service, we compared a variety of pricing factors, including the starting price per meal, the portion size, and the overall value of each kit, to determine whether the price was fair for the quality and amount of food included.
- Menu: During testing, we paid close attention to the menus offered from each service, making note of how many pescatarian-friendly meals were on the lineup each week, and whether the other dishes could be modified to suit a pescatarian diet. We made sure to keep our selections diverse, trying out a variety of different cuisines and dietary restrictions with each service.
- Flavor and ingredient quality: We closely considered the flavors and overall quality of the food to determine whether we’d proudly serve it at our own dinner tables. The freshness of the seafood on offer was also a top priority, and we made note of how and where the seafood included was sourced, as well as whether the ingredients were organic.
- Customer service: We considered the quality of customer service of each brand, including how easy it was to change, cancel, or skip deliveries at any time, and whether we could choose our delivery day and time.
- Level of expertise or gear required: We noted the amount of gear required to cook the recipes, whether the instructions were easy to follow, and if they resulted in an accurate cook, even for novice home chefs.
Other Services We Tested
We tested a lot of meal delivery services for this piece, but our desire to bring you the best of the best left several picks on the cutting board. These meal delivery services are still great options, falling short in just one or two categories that prevented them from making our list.
Strong Contenders
Hungryroot
Hungryroot provides a wide variety of meal options across a number of different cuisine types, including Indian, Thai, Mexican, and Mediterranean. During testing, we found both the site and app easy to use; you can filter the options by protein or dietary focus, making it easy to narrow in on the pescatarian meals on offer. The fish was high-quality and the recipes were good, but we found the produce to be a bit touch and go — a few ingredients turned before the week was out.
Factor
Unlike many meals in the prepared foods category, Factor’s dishes arrive fresh, not frozen, making this service the closest you can get to at-home preparation without actually lifting a knife. The meals we tried were generously sized and flavorful, albeit a bit pricey. We enjoyed the teriyaki salmon dish we tried, but have yet to try enough pescatarian options to give it a confident seal of approval.
