This Montego Bay All-Inclusive Is Going (Kind of) Family-Friendly
It’s long been one one of the top adults-only all-inclusive resorts in Jamaica. But now the S Hotel Montego Bay is going a bit more family-friendly.
While it won’t be a totally family-friendly resort, beginning July 1, the resort will start welcoming younger guests. That will mean kids aged 8 and up will be able to stay at the hotel with their families.
That eight-and-up rule will cover the period between July 1 and December 15. From Dec. 16 to April 30, only kids 10 and up will be welcome at the hotel.

The idea is to ensure a “peaceful and relaxing environment for all guests while embracing a wider travel audience, especially during school holiday periods.”
The adults-only concept has been a very popular one in the Caribbean in recent years, especially when air prices are exorbitant and buying tickets for you and your kids can be a potential barrier.
But with Jamaica’s tourism arrivals declining so far this year, hotels are going to have to get creative to draw in new guests.
The move is a “new chapter for us,” said Christopher Issa, CEO of S Hotels Jamaica, a portfolio that also includes the S Hotel in Kingston (a hotel I really liked when I last stayed there, particularly its rooftop pool). “We’re thrilled to welcome a new generation of travelers and to help families create lasting memories in a culturally rich, design-conscious setting. This move reflects our commitment to evolving with our guests’ needs – offering a sophisticated yet inclusive experience that blends Jamaican authenticity and warm hospitality for all ages.”

So what do you need to know about the resort? It’s a sleek, cool, well-designed property set on the beautiful Doctor’s Cave Beach in the heart of Montego Bay’s “Hip Strip,” with a fantastic spa and very good, very authentic Jamaican-focused food.
Are you thinking about booking a stay at this hotel?
Rates at the S Hotel start at $499 per night right now, according to Google Hotels data.
