Virgin Atlantic Is Adding Starlink to Its Flights

Virgin Atlantic is set to become the first UK airline to offer Starlink-powered Wi-Fi onboard, with plans to install the service across its fleet beginning in the third quarter of 2026. The full rollout, which includes Boeing 787s, Airbus A350s, and A330-900neos, is expected to be completed by the end of 2027, Caribbean Journal has learned.

The partnership with Starlink will bring high-speed, low-latency internet powered by a constellation of low Earth orbit satellites. The result: streaming-quality, secure Wi-Fi that passengers can access for free— provided they’re members of the airline’s Flying Club. Travelers will be able to use multiple devices to stream TV shows, game, shop, or join live video calls, creating a “home away from home” connectivity experience at 35,000 feet.

The upgrade is part of a broader investment in Virgin Atlantic’s in-flight experience and coincides with the carrier’s $17 billion fleet transformation, which includes an order of seven new A330-900neos. Once deliveries are complete, the airline’s fleet will total 45 next-generation aircraft.

For Caribbean-bound travelers, the Starlink upgrade will bring faster Wi-Fi to a growing number of Virgin Atlantic routes in the region. The airline flies to several Caribbean destinations from the UK, including Barbados, Jamaica, The Bahamas, Antigua, Saint Lucia, Grenada, and Turks and Caicos. Most routes depart from London Heathrow, though some flights operate from Manchester as well.

With the rollout of Starlink connectivity, Virgin Atlantic is aiming to set a new standard for in-flight tech—particularly for long-haul passengers heading to the Caribbean.
